JournalBooks' parent company, TimePlanner Calendars, was founded in 1971 by Jerry O'Boyle and specialized in custom planners. Jerry retired in 1992, passing on his vast product knowledge and business acumen to his six sons who continued running the business.

In 1996 Journalbooks exploded on the scene, revamping the journal category with fresh innovation. Selling exclusively to distributors, JournalBooks remains dedicated to constant evolution and exploration, driving the journal industry into ever new and creative areas.

In July of 2007, JournalBooks became a part of Polyconcept North America. Polyconcept brings new depth of experience in exciting growth and expansion while JournalBooks continues to honor its homegrown roots with the O'Boyle family still running daily operations.
